Rachel Johnson and her husband Nate founded 2 Traveling Dogs in 2011. They host a daily dog show featuring rescue dogs Peanut Butter Brickle and Digby Pancake on RV trips as they tour the US to demonstrate animal rescue. With over a million followers on social media, they use their platform to inspire pets to adopt and live their best lives while traveling.
When you park your RV in the Northeast, you can see the mountains and the ocean! Big cities like New York, Boston, and Philadelphia also offer a slice of history and culture. This area has it all, but like everywhere we’ve been, Brickell and Digby are our favorite RV spots in the Northeast.
The Eastern United States consists of eleven states, including Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Vermont. The northeast has a mild climate and very cold winters. But visiting this country in the summer is a great adventure, and the colors of the fall leaves will encourage you to get outside with your dog.
Our favorite part of the trip is the food, and this country has Boston Baked Beans, Wild Blueberries, Puddings, Bread, Rolls, and Apples! Our dogs Brickle and Digby got their favorites! We may have shared names in Maine!

Delaware is the second smallest state in the country, but it offers five great parks for camping! We enjoyed Killens Pond Park near Felton, Delaware. Killens Pond is a great place to go kayaking, canoeing, and kayaking around the pond with your dog! Killens Pond State Park has 59 family campsites with electricity and dog water.
You’ve probably heard of Maine’s famous Bar Harbor. But have you ever heard of Bass Harbor? A few years after our visit, we can’t stop talking about our trip. Bass Harbor, Maine is located on the “backside” of Mount Desert Island, a large part of Acadia National Park. It is located in the southwestern part of the island. Our favorite dog-friendly hikes from Bass Harbor Campground to Bass Harbor Lighthouse! He’s on a farm southeast of the port here. It is one of the most famous lights in the United States. We can remember the sound of water, drums and birds. I am very calm. After a day of picking wild blueberries and eating bread, the trip was well worth it. Don’t forget that Acadia National Park has over 100 miles of trails open to dogs!
Cape Cod is a true Massachusetts experience. Cape Cod is an island in the US state of Massachusetts. It is a tourist destination in the summer, but it is good to visit in the off-season. Old villages, lighthouses, lakes, beaches and beaches for you and your dog. We love visiting downtown Hyannis and watching the boats. We also decided to go on a dog friendly boat trip to Martha’s Vineyard for ice cream! Not all dogs have sea legs, so come prepared! RV camping on Cape Cod gives you a great base in many places in Massachusetts. You will have a choice of luxury or luxury accommodation.
Dogs Luv Us And We Luv Them: Dog Friendly Fun In Waterville Valley, New Hampshire
There’s only one way to get to this island in the middle of the Chesapeake Sea, and that’s by boat. Smith Island is located 12 miles from Crisfield, Maryland. Head to Crisfield and board one of the ferries that operate here. Your dog will love the breeze on this 45-minute ride! However, Brickle doesn’t really like the car. Every dog is different. Tell your dog that this island was first settled by Captain John Smith in 1608! The people who live here are no more than 200 years old and most of them speak the native language. Take your time and walk all the streets of the island to find the easy way of life. Don’t forget to try the Maryland State Cake and Smith Island Cake. Many people and dogs cannot say that they have been here. This is truly a trip you will never forget.

The White Mountains National Forest offers miles of trails, forests, rivers and lakes for dogs to play.
When many people think of New Jersey, they don’t think of land and agriculture. But Sussex, New Jersey will blow you away! Happy Acres Campground Nestled in the hills of rural Northwest New Jersey, Happy Park offers guests the opportunity to camp on a farm! Hayrides and farm animals are a start. Our dog loved seeing the farm animals and swimming in the river. Also dog walking at High Point State Park. The park is located in northern New Jersey and is the highest point in the state. You can see New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania from there! If you’re tired of the country life, The Big Apple is just a short drive away. The best of both worlds is perfect for your pet’s shoes.
Warwick, New York is known for its wineries, community farms and its annual Applefest in October. Warwick is a dog-friendly destination for wanderers who want to get lost in nature. We picked berries at the lovely orchards in Brickle and Digby and then visited a dog friendly area and an apple house! What is better?

When it was built in 1882, the Kinzua Bridge was the tallest railway in the world at 301 feet. Part of the original carriageway still remains, this is an interesting place. Visitors and their dogs can walk 600 feet from the remaining support towers and look out for miles above the Kinzua Canyon to a glass section at the end of the trail.
My time in Rhode Island was short but memorable. Walk your dog back to Cliff Walk in Port New, Rhode Island. Located on the east side of Newport, the Cliff Walk is a popular public promenade that combines the natural beauty of Newport Beach with the architectural history of Newport’s past. Winding for 3.5 miles, it offers spectacular views from the top as the Atlantic Ocean rushes over steep cliffs and the glacier cascades over the rugged rock below. Dogs are allowed on a leash.
