Hidden River Cabins was founded by Carlisle dairy farmer Rob Carr. To diversify the scenery around and around his farm, he decided that everyone should see this part of England’s broken corner. At Secret River Cabins with wife Rachel Carr, 2 kids and Tim. It still welcomes visitors from all over the world.
Rob has 6 specially designed cabins and the wood is sourced from British forests. Not long after 6 cabins were built, a cafe restaurant was built under the river. In 2017, Hidden River House was converted from a farmhouse into a 2-wing group accommodation for up to 16 people. In 2020, Hidden River Barn opened to guests as the perfect venue for your best wedding day.
We have 6 log cabins in the middle of the beautiful and secluded Cumbria countryside, close to the Lake District National Park. Each cabin is named after the fauna and flora of the area. All our cabins have a maximum capacity of 8 people. The cabin is perfect for a group trip with friends or family for a special occasion. Honeymooners rave about how romantic and perfect the cabin is for a short getaway. Check-in time is 16:00-19:00, check-out time is 10:30.

At Secret River Cabins, we welcome dogs in all cabins. So bring your furry friend! Our only request is that the dogs don’t go up, enjoy the sights and smells of the surrounding forest and of course swim in the river! Hidden River House is not dog friendly.
