Dog-friendly Weekend Getaways East Coast – If you’re looking for an intimate weekend getaway near NYC with your dog, I recommend checking out Think Big! A small resort at home. This dog resort is located in the Catskills of New York, about two hours from Manhattan. We spent two nights and three days at the resort to rest and relax. I wanted to take Gatsby on an adventure.

This dog friendly resort has 11 cabins on wheels in the Catskill Forest. Depending on what you choose, they can sleep 2 to 7 people. Each cottage has its own name (ours is ok). This home has a kitchen, full bathroom with toilet, heat/air, WiFi, TV with Netflix so you can watch your favorite shows, private patio with BBQ grill and fire pit.

There is also an off-leash play area for your children. If your child gets dirty while playing, the dog washes him.

The resort has everything you need! It’s like a little tire hotel in the forest! All I brought was raw food and Gatsby’s food for us to cook and cook.

Farm animals are on the property, and chickens and goats roam free! You may see wild animals around, so it’s a good idea to keep your kids on a leash.
