Pet owners who feel guilty about leaving their beloved companion behind when they travel abroad know this. You want to go on vacation with your best friends, but that’s out of the question (well, mostly). What is the best thing for most parents? Pet friendly accommodation in Singapore. Even better, it’s away from the hustle and bustle of the city, so you (yes, people) feel like you’re on vacation too.

Enjoy a pet-friendly accommodation package at Oceania Resort Sentosa, or as the hotel calls it, a ‘Paw Fact Retreat’. For this review, I had the help of my French bulldog, Crunch, who signed up for a 2-day stay and took me on the trip (well, thanks mate!).

The Paw-fect Retreat Stay Package – a two-day, one-day stay for two adults and one pet in the hotel’s newly opened Courtyard Premier Room – offers plenty for both humans and pets, including:
We walked through the crowded main lobby for check-in and into the hotel’s more secluded Palawan lobby, reserved for Paw-fect Retreat guests. Fast, comfortable and there’s plenty of room for the crunch to move around without feeling uncomfortable in the weather. It is safe to say that this process is approved by both dog and owner.
Our first impression of the Courtyard Premier Room: It was very spacious (63 square meters), meaning Crunch had plenty of room to move around.
There is also a separate outdoor patio with a dining table, chairs and bean bags. However, the courtyard is walled, which means there is no direct window access anywhere in the room, although natural light flows through the courtyard.

But the best thing about the room is the space. We thought there was plenty of room for Crunch to explore, but there’s even more room for Jax. If you wish, you can enjoy a self-guided yoga session (a yoga mat is provided in the room). If you prefer to exercise, there is always a pool or gym at the hotel (no dogs allowed).
Room amenities (for humans) are adequate – coffee and teapots, water and coconut water are provided. But you don’t have to worry about running out of drinks at Ambiah Monorail Station, as the shops are just a stone’s throw away.
One thing we liked was that we didn’t pack a lot of stuff for the stay – they provided almost everything you need (we only packed food for dinner). A pet accessory set includes essentials such as a pet bag, bed, pet wipes, and pee pad. But we (especially the dog, of course) were pleasantly surprised to find a treat – the pork and laksa koh banquet definitely got the Crunch stamp of approval. There was also a pet scarf for photos, because what’s a vacation without fitness checks?
But one of our favorite things in the pack includes a dog rug, which is one of Crunch’s favorite activities around the house and will keep him busy for a long time.

Although fur babies aren’t allowed in the hotel’s pool or gym, there’s still plenty to get close to. No, you don’t even need to do your research. The hotel offers a pet-friendly trail map that you can follow. We highly recommend visiting Sensoriscape at night – the light and sound trail is just a minute’s walk from the hotel and offers plenty of photo opportunities (don’t forget your dog scarf).
Breakfast is included at Bedrock Origin, but if you’re dining with your furry friends, you’ll be able to sit in the outdoor dining area. At check-in, we were asked to schedule breakfast. First of all, we have to say that we were on a bank holiday weekend, so the breakfast service was a bit crowded and we had a small queue for a table despite having a reservation, although this may always be the case. Not so. . Food is ordered from a menu, while drinks and fruit are served buffet style.
Although the breakfast service was not what we expected, it is worth noting that our dinner at Bedrock Origin was a completely different experience – in a spicy way. We didn’t have to wait long for our food and the service was attentive even though we were seated outside with the dog. Among the delicious entrees on the menu, don’t miss delicacies like kingfish sashimi, hamachi collar and dry-aged ribeye.
Great for special occasions or for those who want a break from the city and want to take their dog with them. Staying at a pet-friendly hotel in Singapore isn’t cheap, but if you want to take your kids to Sentosa at a better price than Capella’s room rates, this might be a good option. First of all, the location of Sentosa is great, with plenty of pet-friendly food and drink options within walking distance, and that convenience is key, especially with dogs.
