Drive a 4WD if you can because you will be driving in the snow on the way to the apartment and you will be driving a mountain road but the paths do a great job of clearing and jumping the trails.
I have rented apartments from many different people and had great experiences with all of them.We even had our dog sleep in the apartment all day while skiing.
We have rented for many years in Bee Branch On the upside, you can ski (on easy trails) which is great for family members and condo trips.

For the past two years, Neil and I (both of us at the time) rented an apartment in Briar Cliff. We went to Sugar Mountain Ski Resort and rented a locker at the resort to store our skis, poles, boots and helmets. Sweet and very friendly, so Daisy can come with us. Good traveler and sleeps in the apartment all day while skiing.
Most condos and homes have fireplaces, so you can bring wood or buy inexpensive wood at your local store or in Banner Elk. It’s a little expensive to buy, but it’s good to help the local economy We usually use two batches a night
We freeze lunches and soups in the freezer for lunch and dinner, so we don’t have to eat out to save money and time. After a long day of skiing, we shower, change into our pajamas, and enjoy a home-cooked meal.
One night we had pizza at a lovely pizzeria in Banner Elk called Bella’s We also like to eat at the Banner Elk Tavern
Pet Friendly Cottages & Rooms
Make sure you have warm and waterproof clothing as sometimes there is a mix of rain and snow I understand that there is no warm waterproof ski jacket
If your apartment has a dryer, buy a few pairs of ski gloves or dry them overnight. It’s embarrassing to start the day with wet gloves (Some apartments have washers and dryers, some don’t.)
I also recommend getting ski boots, ski boots have no support, ski socks are a bit firmer, warm and comfortable for skiing.
Don’t forget Lykia sunglasses or good glasses I love sunglasses for cold days and sunglasses for hot days

If you’re going to the resort, I recommend snowshoes or at least waterproof boots. You will pass through ice and often muddy water and mud
You can rent all equipment at Sugar Mountain Resort To save time, I recommend renting equipment the night before or the night of your first day of skiing Lines can be very long in the morning and you will miss out on skiing We rent the following items:
You must also purchase a daily roof/lift ticket They can be purchased at 20:00 or before the start of the ski They do not allow more than one day purchase at a time
If you don’t know what skiing I recommend, especially for adults, you can apply for skiing at a resort. Kids learn fast, especially if the adults in your group know how to ski. After that they spoke positively
North Carolina Getaways Offer Sparkling Winter Beauty Close To Home
If you’re driving or skiing (or staying at a ski/ski-in or condo), I recommend renting a cabin. Overnight clothes, polos, ski boots, helmets, etc. allows for storage Carrying all this equipment to your car or apartment is a lot of work
If you rent a locker, we provide plastic bags to cover your ski boots overnight (see photo below). This will prevent water from seeping into the night boots of helmets and lysas.
We also have an outdoor dryer (and a glove and hat dryer if the apartment doesn’t have a clothes dryer). That evening we rented our clothes, wet and dried our clothes.
You can also buy night ski/lift tickets We did this once as a family and it was so much fun! However, relaxing back in our apartment is good, especially for us middle-class people
