Dog Friendly Vacations In Washington State – There is something about January that just makes me want to sit down with my calendar and plan all my trips for the coming year. It’s cold and dark outside, curling up on a laptop and planning an amazing adventure is satisfying.

Although we’ve taken a break from major international travel during the pandemic, we’re enjoying getting reacquainted with the Seattle area and all its wonderful (and dog-friendly!) weekends. After living in New York and Chicago for ten years, it’s great to come back and rediscover old favorites, as well as see all the amazing innovative places, boutique hotels, and unique Airbnbs popping up here. And most of all, I love seeing how many people offer dog-friendly options for your vacation. I was so much happier when we were able to bring Dave and Lizzie back on our vacation.

We’ve blogged in the past about how much we love getaway tiny houses, and we’re checking out the new Skagit Valley location. It’s a great way to escape into nature while staying warm and dry. And how amazing is the beautiful window? Dogs are allowed for a fee. details here.

Honestly, The Coho Oceanfront stole my heart with the fire by the water. Although this lodge on the Oregon Coast is a short drive from Seattle, the beautiful modern interior and breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean are worth the drive. Dogs under 25 pounds are welcome in certain rooms, more details here.

New Year’s resolution is to stay as soon as possible at the dream Lodge in St. Edward, which should be easy as it’s only half an hour’s drive outside the city. This historic landmark seminary has been restored to a stately and luxurious resort located on 326 acres of trails directly on Lake Washington. We had a perfect weekend at The Lodges on Vashon in January 2020 and blogged about it, and the memories have kept me going through the last months. At 570 square feet, this designer unit offers amenities such as a private balcony, fireplace, and a bathtub. Olympic Peninsula Visitor Bureau Issues New Map Highlighting Dog-friendly Outdoor Spots On Peninsula

I’ve long dreamed of living in one of these insta-famous A-frames, and I’m determined to make it happen this year. Tye River Cabin Co. offers three different beautiful A-frame cabins located in the heart of the Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, and all three are pet-friendly for a fee. Words to the wise. It can be hard to get booked because every great Insta post gets thousands of likes. Pet information is listed in each cabin.

We spent a lovely Easter weekend in Semiahmoo in 2019 and I am looking for an opportunity to return to the beautiful scenery and secluded beach that Lizzie loves. Just a stone’s throw from the Canadian border, this quiet retreat is the perfect base camp for great hikes and breathtaking views of the northern Washington coast. They are very dog ​​friendly and welcome little ones with bowls, beds and (at least during the visit) some souvenirs. Dog details here.

Anacortes is one of my favorite attractions of the city. Drive an hour and a half north of Seattle to find this charming downtown beach town full of great shops, great cafes and waterfront views. (Watermark Book Co. is one of my favorite Washington bookstores.) And we love the excellent downtown bar, The Majestic, with its cozy guest rooms and beautiful rooftop bar. Lake Chelan Pet-friendly Vacation Rentals

I love a unique getaway and Winthrop’s Rolling Huts certainly delivers. These tiny houses were designed by Seattle’s Olson Kundig Architects to be a modern alternative to camping. This luxury Hood Canal resort claims to have been welcoming little ones since 1913, and we can trust their menu full of Fido amenities. Make memories by renting a kayak, hiking the trails, or just enjoying the scenery. Read about dogs here.

Okay, so this one isn’t technically available yet, but we’ve signed up for a notification to get reservations when this luxury camper trailer is released in Olympic National Park. They offer creature comforts outside of the typical campsite while providing a secluded and sustainable way to get into nature. Two locations in Washington, D.C. I’m obsessed with the beautiful new Water’s Edge Suites at this historic Orcas Island inn, which offer private balconies overlooking the bay. I can already see myself turning up there with the book. If you follow us on Instagram, you know we make quick trips to Seabrook any chance we can get. This picturesque beach town on Washington’s beautiful Pacific coast is literally everything I’ve been looking for on vacation: a great downtown with cute shops and restaurants, tons of rental options, and pristine beaches. Dogs are welcome in most rental locations.

With beautiful views of Lake Washington, The Woodmark offers a relaxing escape just a quick drive outside of downtown Seattle. If you haven’t heard of Tentrr, you’re missing out. We’ve stayed with them twice (in Vermont and on a trip to Maine that we wrote about here) and each trip has been amazing. Generally, they set up luxury safari camps on private land, such as a beautiful orchard near Meade, Washington. You can even choose to pay a little extra for one of the on-site fruit pies or farm fresh eggs for tasty scrambled eggs. More about Tentrr’s chick policy here.

Granted, Idaho is a bit far from Seattle, but we’d drive almost the entire distance to stay at this air watch tower. Plus the little details like the sauna on site and the antique mill really melt my heart. Pets are allowed, although judging by the door from the stairs, you may need to evaluate whether this will be a pleasant holiday for you.
