We had a very pleasant stay at Convent Cottage. It’s right in the center of town, walking distance up the hill to the main beach, and very close to great restaurants and cafes. Yamba and the people we met were amazing! One of the best pet-friendly accommodations in Australia is a caravan park, and most caravan parks allow dogs. The caravan park also has a number of facilities, including a swimming pool and playground, making it ideal for holidays with children.
However, most Australian caravan parks with cabins do not allow dogs in the cabins, although they do allow dogs on the premises. This makes things difficult if you don’t have your own RV, camper, or even tent.

Many caravan parks near Sydney don’t allow pets, so it’s no surprise that there aren’t many pet-friendly properties near Sydney. Check out the options available within a 2-hour drive from Sydney.
Just south of Kiama, Gerringong is just two hours south of Sydney. Werri Beach Holiday Park is a great caravan park for dogs. In addition to pet-friendly accommodation, the caravan park has three two-bedroom cabins suitable for pets.
If you would like to reserve a home with your dog, you must make a reservation directly. Please note that dogs are only allowed on school grounds in New South Wales on public holidays.

One of the best things about staying at Werri Beach Holiday Park with your dog is that it’s right opposite Werri Beach, which has an off-leash section. There are outdoor parks nearby and the dog-friendly Kiama Coast His Walk is also nearby.
Kiama Council-managed Second Kiama Beach Holiday Park recently started allowing some households to keep pets. At Surf Beach Holiday Park, some two-bedroom suites are pet-friendly for an additional fee of $25 per night.
The farm is located a short distance from the center of Kiama and the famous Blowhole. Please note, however, that the nearby beach does not allow dogs on the sand, although there is an outdoor dog exercise area at the nearby Kareura Reserve.
It is important to make reservations directly by calling or emailing the park. As with Werri Beach Holiday Park, pets are only allowed during non-peak seasons.

If you want to head north to Sydney, the perfect dog park is Blacksmith Beachside Holiday Park, located between the Central Coast and Newcastle. I have already stayed in a caravan in the park, but there are also two dog-friendly cabins.
Both pet-friendly rooms come with a dog door to an enclosed porch, toilet, and water bowl. Some species are prohibited, so we recommend calling to check the rules before booking. However, there are no restrictions during peak seasons.
The park is a short walk from patrolled Blacksmith Beach and a short walk from the off-leash dog beach at the north end of town. There is a dog washing area on the premises.

The park is a short walk from Bilbi Beach, a dog-friendly area. You can also head to Bagnalls Beach in Corlett, on the calm waters of Port Stephens. There is also a free dog washing station on site.
The twin cities of Forster and Tuncurry are great places to visit with your dog. There are many dog-friendly beaches and cafes, as well as several pet-friendly accommodations where you can bring your dog.
One resort offering friendly accommodation is Lani’s Holiday Island on the edge of Lake Forster. Recommended for dog owners. Some rooms allow pets. Choose from pet-friendly cottages, villas, and apartments that sleep up to 4 or 5 people. Please double check if your mattress is available.

Another great dog park in Forster-Tuncurry is Discovery Parks-Forster, located north of town along the Darawank River. Dogs are welcome at the park year-round, both in designated areas and designated rooms.
Dog friendly rooms are clearly marked on the website. Look for the “Dogs OK” sign. Pets are allowed in the deluxe river front rooms! Additional charges apply. Generally only one dog is allowed per reservation, but please check with management if you have two children.
The park has plenty of other dog-friendly facilities (though families will also appreciate the newly opened swimming pool and splash park). There is a fenced dog run, dog washing and drying services (surcharge), and a Discovery Barks Walk every Sunday at 8am.
Diamond Water Caravan Park is located on the Camden Haven River near Laurieton, 40 minutes north and south of Port Macquarie. It’s a beautiful place surrounded by woodland and welcomes dogs all year round, but no cats to protect the local wildlife.

A popular holiday park for pet owners is Reflections Holiday Park Moonee Beach, north of Coffs Harbour. In the parking lot, dogs are allowed all year round, both inside the house and in some rooms.

Calypso Holiday Park Yamba
A short drive from Coffs Harbor and Moonee Beach, Woolgoolga is located at Woolgoolga Lakeside Holiday Park. Pets are allowed most of the year, except December 20th and January 14th, and Easter weekend.
