First a little background on how we became new pet parents. A few years ago, when COVID suddenly managed to swallow our lives and the first lockdown began, my husband and I joined the pet community to help feed the homeless dogs on the streets. And then we found a very cute cute ppl who got lost in the park without their mom. They were barely a few weeks old and we took turns feeding them. One of them was a strong and playful dog, and one of our friends immediately named him Raju, as was his favorite name for a dog.

Raju became mischievous and cunning by the day and soon became the happy but strong alpha. Unfortunately, tragedy struck and he was apparently beaten by some miscreants in the middle of the night when he was six months old and broke his back. Raju, the super motivated boy was semi-paralyzed and in a lot of pain – most of the doctors told us to put him down. Finally one of them agreed to the operation and we brought him home, hoping that one day he would be able to walk and run like a normal dog. However, two years later, although he can stand up and walk a little, he is still semi-paralyzed and unsteady, but runs with the wheelchair we got for him. And Raju is a traveler who has been to beaches and jungles and is now on a wonderful vacation in the mountains. His younger sister Ayesha was always with him and in the last few months she started living with us and this trip was her first trip away from home.

The staff loved pets so much that Raju and Ishu felt so comfortable there. They would walk and run with us, frolic on the grass, sunbathe, chase the goats and ducks, look out over the endless green from the balcony, sleep with their heads up, dreaming of more adventures.
