Located on the shores of Lake Champlain, Basin Harbor believes that no family vacation is complete without a four-legged family member. Their pet policy allows well-behaved dogs of all sizes in the cottages for a daily fee of $20 per pet. To book online, you can select any of the cottages and add the pet fee at check-out.

This resort has everything you need to have the best vacation without leaving your 700 acres. Choose from a wide range of fun activities for the whole family, from land to lake. The guest pool and boardwalk are pet-free areas, but dogs have their own designated swimming area, Fanny’s Beach. We were also able to rent a sailboat to go out on the lake with Roscoe! Additionally, you can dine at one of the resort’s five restaurants. Dogs are not allowed in the dining room, but they are welcome to dine with you in Red Mill’s outdoor seating area. Dog walking and dog sitting services are also available if you want to have the fun without Fido.

The Field Guide Lodge in Stowe is a stylish boutique hotel operated by Lark Hotels. Like many of their properties, their pet policy allows dogs weighing less than 70 pounds for an additional fee of $50 per dog per day. We stayed in one of their three dog-friendly cottage suites, which are very spacious and have a private outside entrance. You can book these apartments online, just remember to include a note with your dog’s size, shape, and name at checkout. Only dogs are not allowed in guest rooms. Out of respect for other guests, dogs on leashes are only allowed outside the hotel lobby and common areas.
The hotel is known for its luxurious lodge-style decor. The lobby lounge, furnished with a retro wood stove and cozy furs, invites you to stay with a book or a board game. You can have breakfast at the Café Bar in the lobby or have drinks and snacks at the brand new vintage ski-themed bar. You have to book the outdoor hot tub in advance, which is a bit inconvenient. But the advantage is that you are sure to have it. And the location can’t be beat. We managed to walk to the town center and the mountain shuttle stopped in front of the hotel. It’s the perfect base for you and your pup’s Vermont adventures.

The Inn at Mountain View Farms is a very special place to stay in the heart of Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom. Per their pet policy, dogs are allowed in select rooms for an additional $50 per night: Peacham, Danville, N.Y. Denville, Maidstone and the Lost Nation. You can select the “Pet Friendly” option to book your room online. The inn is so animal-friendly that a friendly golden retriever works at the front desk and there’s even an animal sanctuary. Be careful if your dog is reactive towards other animals!
We stayed in the Deluxe Peacham room, which was homey as well as comfortable. Roscoe especially loved sleeping in front of the crackling wood fireplace. In the morning, we were welcomed with pastries and coffee hot from the oven in the main building of the Inn. Just when we thought we couldn’t eat again, the innkeeper brought out stacks of his famous farm-fresh blueberry pancakes. We could not resist.
Set on 400 acres of hillside in the untouched Northeast Kingdom, this historic farm is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever stayed. It’s worth waking up at the crack of dawn to watch the sunrise, with pale pink and purple hues spreading over the mountains and morning mist descending into the valley.
Kimpton Taconic Hotel in Manchester has one of the most generous hotel pet policies ever. Everything from fur to feathers is welcome, as long as it fits in the lift! There are no limits on size, weight, breed or number of pets allowed and there is no additional deposit or fee. Filter by pet when booking online and fill out the pet form at check-in.

Kimpton Taconic truly is the perfect place to pamper your dog. The rooms are equipped with food bowls, toys, sweets and a plush Orvis dog bed. (The main Orvis store down the street is worth a visit with your dog). Dogs are allowed in the lobby and front porch of the hotel’s Copper Grouse restaurant. In cold weather, they have outdoor heaters to make sure you and your pup stay warm. Additionally, you may contact the front desk to request pet services, including, but not limited to, pet grooming services, dog walking and pet spa services.
Built in Vermont in downtown Burlington is a home away from home for you and your pet. This urban chic boutique bed and breakfast has a pet policy that welcomes well-behaved furry friends for a fee of $25 per pet, per day. You can book directly online, just remember to add your dog to the number of guests and provide details in the notes.
We stayed in room 904, one of the larger rooms recommended for larger dogs. It’s very cozy, even with Roscoe, and the bathrooms are down the hall (though at least they’re private). The inn’s unique character may not be for everyone, but it’s in a great location within walking distance of the town centre. The owners are very friendly and readily provide suggestions for pet-friendly restaurants and things to do in Burlington.
Located between Killington and Rutland in Central Vermont, Mountain Top Resort not only allows dogs, but it puts dogs first. Their pet policy states that canine companions are welcome in the resort’s four luxurious king cabins and select guest houses with Vermont-made cookies, dog beds, and bowls. You can reserve for an additional fee of $50 per dog per night, up to a maximum of two dogs per unit. Dogs must be registered at the time of your booking.

With simple but clean rooms, this is one of Stowe’s more affordable hotel options. Breakfast spoils a lot of things, so go elsewhere for your morning meal. But grab a drink from the Fritz Bar and sit in a cozy spot with your pup. Choose to play board games in the large lounge booth, read a good book in front of the large sunken fireplace, or gaze around the roaring fire outside.
