A favorite of fishing enthusiasts, Cyrus Resort welcomes your furry friend to the wonderful area known as Lake of the Woods.

Just a short drive from Minneapolis’ weekend getaways, the lake and centrally located lodges make weekend getaways for chicks and dudes easy, and they also have a cute dog park by the river. Bonus: Remember the Paul Bunyan Trail we mentioned earlier? You can also grab it here!
For a great view (especially on a weekend!), take the time to drive the Minnesota River Valley Scenic Byway to reach the Minnesota Valley State Recreation Area. The 4,299-acre park consists of wetlands and floodplain forests. Find a dog kennel in Jordan or continue down Hwy 169 to explore St. Peter, Mankato or New Ulm.
