Loving Longniddry, An East Lothian Jewel
Pembrokeshire has many dog-friendly beaches, including Freshwater West Beach. This wide sand and rocky beach is a popular spot for divers. The sand dunes are a favorite among furry visitors.
Southwold Beach is divided into two. In the south of the country is Southwold Denis Beach. Any dog owner will be happy to know that dogs are allowed all year round. Southwold Pier Beach, on the north coast, is dog-free from April to September, so keep this in mind.
Mersey beaches are more than happy to welcome your canine companion. So when you visit Essex you must visit West Mersea Beach. The council advises dog owners to clean up their dog waste and leave it in designated areas. During the summer, leashed dogs are preferred.

What dog doesn’t love running in the waves, playing in the shallows, and getting covered in sand? (Owners may feel a little different about that last one!)
But finding a place in Golden Beach that accepts dogs can sometimes be tricky. Not everyone thinks crazy mutts running around the beach is a wonderful pastime.
But luckily for our pups, there are quite a few dog-friendly beaches – including three in Scotland ranked in the UK’s top ten.
Yellowcraig beach near North Berwick came in sixth, with nearby Secliffe beach a few places behind in eighth.

They found the best dog-friendly beaches by analyzing Google ratings and reviews of 151 dog-friendly beaches.
Yellowcraig – often called Broad Sands Bay – is popular with families. Your four-legged family members will not only love the beach and sand, but there are plenty of wooded walks around the beach where they can sniff and eat to their heart’s content.
The village of Dirleton is an easy drive, so if you don’t fancy a picnic, you can head to the beach there, which has popular bars and restaurants and dogs are welcome.
Dog Friendly Longniddry Beach, East Lothian
Seacliffe is a real hidden gem located in a remote part of East Lothian near North Berwick. It’s a private beach so you have to pay to enter, but it’s worth it when you see the beautiful views of Bass Rock and the golden sand and clean sea.
Bhostadh Beach (or Traigh Bhostadh in its Gaelic name) is a sandy beach with white shells on the far side of Great Bernera, across the bridge that connects it to the Isle of Lewis.
There are many islands in the bay that provide protection from the Atlantic Ocean, making it an ideal spot for dog walking or swimming.
Durdle Door in Dorset is considered the most dog-friendly beach. The famous limestone arches provide a wonderful backdrop for a game of catch with your four-legged friends.

Cuckmere Haven Beach in East Sussex was ranked second, Man O’War Beach in Dorset was ranked third, and Three Cliffs Bay in Glamorgan came fourth to North Tynemouth.

Stunning Seacliff Beach is just over 50 minutes from the capital and is known as Scotland’s only gateway. It ranked seventh in the UK-wide top ten and was the only Scottish entrant to score 7.99 out of 10.

Perhaps one of the lesser known and quieter beaches overlooking the Firth of Forth, Seacliff Beach has plenty of open space and golden sand, making it ideal for dogs.
With stunning views over the Firth of Forth, the impressive Bass Rock and the nearby impressive ruins of Tantallon Castle, there is plenty to see and do. Oh, and be sure to check out the charming little harbor known as Gegan.
