The Cotswolds has beautiful walks and views of the Lake District, but it’s even more beautiful. Here, rolling hills and acres of green land surround picturesque villages of honey-coloured houses, with plenty of opportunities for walking, leisurely strolls along the canals of villages such as Bibury and including Bourton-on -the-Water.
Snowshill Manor Farmhouse, part of a large estate, is a National Trust property in the small village of Snowshill (near Broadway). This is a “real walk”, with events on nearby dog-friendly trails, including part of the 102-mile Cotswold Way, although visitors can also head to Stratford-upon-Avon or Chipping Campden. The interior of the house is now comfortable and has a wood-burning stove for guests to relax in; There is enough space for two dogs, meaning larger groups can rent this resort.
Brighton is one of the most dog-friendly cities in the UK. There are plenty of walking routes around the city, its beaches, parks such as Pavilion Gardens and the nearby South Downs, but Brighton is also home to dog-friendly businesses, including cafes and restaurants.
You can take your dog on a cruise on the Volk electric train or visit one of the city’s dog-friendly events, such as the Dogtember event at Saltdean Lido (where dogs and dog owners swim four times a day between September 9 and October 1).

Yorkshire is another area perfect for a family dog holiday, with country towns and seaside towns offering owners plenty of ways to fill their days.
