The trail wasn’t too crowded with other hikers, but this is a regular MTB route (it wasn’t a problem for us). There are many sheep grazing freely in the fields on either side, and sometimes on the path, so it is not a peaceful walk for every person and their dog.
Fortunately, Mabel stays away from them when told and is given a good order to leave (does she know she’s not allowed to even try to get close to the sheep?). They put her in charge when it was convenient because there are lambs at the moment, don’t worry, we are not irresponsible!
All in all, the path is only 80 meters long, so it’s a very easy walk. It took us about an hour to get there and an hour back, it’s very easy to get there and back as there is only one path through the swamp.
Parking is in the Invermark car park, but note that there are no public toilets here (we pee in the wild). Had we known in advance, we would have stopped at Tarfside to use the public toilets here (again, not a problem for us, but maybe for others).
