Located 8 miles east of Kanab, spacious tents are filled with luxurious bedding and comfortable linens. The common kitchen and bathroom are clean and away from the feeling of common areas. Near the office you will find a hammer, a fireplace and a beautiful thermal bath.
My favorite part of this area is that you are surrounded by beautiful rocks and enjoy spectacular views of the night sky.

The tents come with modern amenities like a solar power bank in each tent that will give you enough power to charge all your devices while running the lights inside. You will find a propane heater to keep you warm in the colder months.
The place has only five stalls, which feels very intimate and low-key. A great place to watch wildlife and a perfect place to watch the sunrise.

Grab a leash and head to the Toadstool Hoodoos Trail. Even your well-trained dog will enjoy the hike as you pass towering mushroom-shaped cliffs and red, white wave-like formations.
This hike is suitable for all skill levels, but is best used when the temperature is not high due to lack of shade. If you’re going this route in the summer, be sure to bring plenty of water for you and your dog!
We visited the trail in March and were lucky enough to have the place to ourselves, but it’s usually very crowded, so keep in mind that your dog doesn’t do well around people.

Tip: Most people stop at the big hoodoos first when the trail opens, but if you wander the trail, you’ll find more amazing hoodoos with incredible views, so don’t miss it!
Your dog will definitely thank you for stopping by this cute dog park. Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park is located 19 miles west of Kanab and is full of soft sand. Create a perfect playground for your dog.
I would advise you to check the weather before you go as we are going on a windy day in March and the glasses will be useful on this day. The weather didn’t stop us from having a great time!
You need to keep your dog on a leash in the park, but we only removed the leash when we were far enough away from any crowds. Our dog was in heaven running up and down the sand dunes.

Our cute dog couldn’t resist a power nap as soon as he got in the car and who could blame him? This amazing place is definitely a must stop! Trust us, the only regret you’ll have is not making it here!
If your dog is nervous about getting out of the car in the middle of a road trip, I highly recommend a pit stop at Moki Sand Caves. It is a fast route and offers incredible views. This trail is not marked, but can be seen from Hwy 89 about 6 miles north of Kanab. There is a lot of trash on the west side of HWY 89 northbound. You can easily see the caves from the road.
You need to climb a gentle slope with your dog. If your dog is well behaved, I recommend that you lower it, because it makes it easier for both of you when you go into the cave. Be sure to keep a close eye on your dog!
Your dog will love you for letting him see such a great route! I don’t want to miss it.
Adopt A New Best Friend From Best Friends Animal Sanctuary In Kanab, Ut
This is a dog trail in Zion National Park and is the only trail that allows dogs in the park. The trail is paved and popular with cyclists, so be sure to keep your dog on a leash. This path offers very little shade, so I would avoid walking this path in the middle of the day. The floor can be very hot and burn your dog’s paws, so check the weather before you go.
Although it may not be the most scenic drive that Zion National Park has to offer, you will get a great view of the cliffs along the Virgin River that flows along the way. And given that it’s located in Zion National Park, this is probably one of the best things to do in Kanab with a dog.
Tip: Do not let your dog drink virgin river water as it has recently been discovered and may contain toxic bacteria that are dangerous for you and your dog.
