All of these sights are within a two-hour drive of central Sydney, ideal for a day’s adventure, while others will take a few hours. So whether you’re planning for later today or next weekend, spend your energy reading something interesting
Best Dog Friendly Day Trips Sydney
One of the most popular walks in Sydney is crossing the Harbor Bridge No one is stopping you from picking your pocket! I recommend parking around Curry Bull, then east of the bridge, south of the train station.
Traveling With Dogs In Nova Scotia
The walk to the south end of Town Bridge, about 1.5 km, is longer than you might think However, there are beautiful views along the way, so hold on to your hat on windy days
At the southern end of the bridge, you can cross the stone towards the Opera House .
Another popular drive in Sydney is the Bondi to Coogee Coastal Drive The road follows 6km of coastline past some of Sydney’s most popular beaches Unfortunately, none of the beaches allow dogs, so you’ll have to stick to the back with your dog.
However, there are many parks along the way 4.30pm and 8.30am except Marks Park on Bonnie, where there are sculptures on the beach. Bronte Park behind Bronte Beach is open from 3pm to 10pm. Also, Burroughs Park, south of Waverly Cemetery, is a 24-hour resort.

One of the most popular day trips from Sydney is to climb the Blue Mountains, stopping at places like the Three Sisters.
Now, you might think that you can’t do this with a dog, because most of the area is inside the national park, and dogs are strictly prohibited. However, the most popular sights in the area are outside the national park, controlled by the local council, where dogs are allowed

Another popular day trip from Sydney is South Kiama, the world’s largest canyon Deep high seas are best experienced when actually moving!! But it is a beautiful place even in calm weather

One of the best dog beaches in the Sydney area is at Bayview in Sydney’s northern suburbs at the top of Pittwater. The dog park is part of the larger Rowland Reserve, marked by a large grassy field and nearby beaches
As it is not an ocean beach, the relatively calm, shallow water is close to shore, and the deeper water is for more confident dog swimmers. Note that parking can be expensive if you find one of the free one-hour parking lots near the department
The Newport, on the water’s edge, is a wonderful dog-friendly pub It can get busy, so reservations are recommended before the weekend, especially for large groups, although dogs are not allowed inside the pavilion or pergola. Of course, dogs must be on a leash at all times
Discover The Best Dog-friendly Campgrounds Near Sydney, New South Wales
Finding dog-friendly forests around Sydney can be difficult, with many of the best walking trails located within national parks where dogs are not allowed. However, dogs are allowed in all NSW state forests
One of the best state forests to visit near Sydney is Strickland State Forest off the Pacific Highway near Gosford. It is located approximately 75 minutes north of central Sydney, even closer to the northern suburbs or Parramatta.
Strickland State Forest offers several hiking trails, about 2 miles long, that you can combine for a longer hike. We prefer to hike the Arboretum Track for a 2.3km walk through Australia’s oldest arboretum, including an interesting bridge.
Note that the final road to Strickland State Forest is not open It is about 2.5km from the lower carpark or 1.5km from the Banksia picnic area. The lower footpaths are often muddy and if you’re in a 2WD I’d recommend not going to the lower car park after heavy rain, although the Banksia picnic area should be fine.

Dogs are technically allowed in state forests, although the old rule that they must be under your control often allows dogs to run loose. This is a popular place to walk dogs, even middle-aged ones, so keep an eye on other dogs and keep your dog on the back.
Another beautiful dog walk through the woods, but this time with the thrill of a waterfall, the South Lawson Falls Track. This is the most popular dog walk in the Nile Mountains You and your party will encounter not just one but four waterfalls on this 2.7 km long trek
Please note that there are some difficult sections for dogs At the beginning of the hike (if you start at the place marked “Five Falls” on Google), there is a wire mesh bridge that many dogs don’t like and it crosses the river. There are also steps that small dogs appreciate going up or down
This hike is perfect for any time of year, especially in the summer when there are plenty of places for dogs to splash in the water. Note that some areas may become muddy after rain

Note: As of February 2022, there is a short section of the track that is technically closed due to a cliff, but visitors have reported being able to walk this section.

Luckily, there’s a drive in cinema in Sydney, operated by Skyline Drive Adventure Cinemas in Blacktown, that luckily lets dogs join you. They must remain in your car when not inside, and are not allowed in the Golden Lawn area or dining area, but are free to join you in watching the latest blockbusters and selected classics.
