Hamworthy Park beach is within walking distance of our walk and is dog friendly all year round. It enjoys an ideal location on the north side of Poole Harbour, with easy access to the town center and stunning views over Brownsea Island and the Purbeck Hills.
Dogs are allowed on the sand and beach, giving them plenty of time to burn off energy. You’ll see dogs of all shapes and sizes playing ball games and enjoying a nice swim!
Besides the beach there is a large park to entertain the family. There is also a restaurant offering a selection of light meals, as well as a children’s playground and paddling pool.
Dogs Allowed: Hamworthy Beach is dog friendly all year round. Dogs are allowed on the beach but must be leashed on the boardwalk. Dogs are not allowed on the playground or paddling pool.

Hengistbury Head is well worth a visit during your holiday at South Lytchett Manor. The beach is popular every year, thanks to the spectacular scenery and the abundance of wildlife. There are many hiking trails to enjoy and many places to explore. We highly recommend the 3.5-mile loop, which takes in coastal, woodland, grassland and heathland terrain.
Our best time to visit is on a cool or hot day. There’s something special about wrapping up warm for a brisk walk on the beach while the dogs run and play. Well-behaved dogs are allowed on the beach, although there are restrictions in some areas on bird and plant conservation owners are encouraged to read all signs and keep dogs safe.

Worbarrow Bay is one of our dog friendly beaches on the Jurassic Coast and is a must visit on holiday or holiday in Dorset. It’s tucked away between Lulworth Cove and Kimmeridge and is the perfect spot for a day at the beach with your four-legged friend.
The best way to get to Worbarrow Bay is from the car park at Tyneham Village – a historic site that has not been damaged since it was abandoned during the Second World War. From here it’s a lovely 1 mile walk down to the beautiful beach, where your canine companion will enjoy a swim.
The beach is quieter than others in the area and less busy during school holidays. There is a small accommodation and no facilities, so you should bring an umbrella or a baby tent if you want to stay for a few hours.
From the beach you can join the South West Road and explore the area on foot. The roads are steep and require a firm footing.

Parking: Parking is available at the end of a narrow lane, adjacent to Tyneham village. There is no charge but there is a donation box, and the money goes towards maintaining the community and toilets. Be sure to check the door lock time when you arrive.
If you want to take your four-legged friend to the sandy beach, Branksome Chine might be the best choice. There’s plenty of room for dogs to run and play in this family favorite, while you toss a ball or paddle in the shallows.

Unlike the other beaches on this list, Branksome Chine is not year-round and has limitations. Dogs are allowed in the fall and winter, making it a great choice if you’re vacationing in the off-season.
