Just a 40 minute drive from Singapore Customs, we headed to LEGOLAND for a long weekend. Of course our hard drive in Genting had three of us driving our drive.
If you have kids aged 2 to teenagers, I think LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort is a great family destination. Leroy (6 years old) can walk several times independently when he reaches the height limit. From outdoor play areas to 3D/stage shows, families with lots of kids don’t have to worry about their little ones being left behind. We’ve seen kids climbing and exploring the outdoor playground!

Hong Kong was our first destination before COVID-19 hit us. From attractions, games and shopping to all things Disney, spend a day here watching the parade.

Hoi An has one of the oldest cities in Southeast Asia and is surrounded by beautiful views and tropical beaches. Also, Vietnamese food is delicious! It takes 2 hours 45 minutes to fly from Singapore to Da Nang Airport. Hoi An is a 45-minute drive from Da Nang Airport.

In short: explore the beautiful old town, explore the countryside by bike (we loved our Heaven & Earth tour), go to the beach, join a cooking class or culinary tour (we liked ours on the Hoi An Road by motorbike) and sew a kit.
And don’t forget to try Vietnamese street food with local experts in Hoi An! My favorites are the pork banh mi baguette (try Madam Khanh Banh Mi Queen), white rice noodles, and crispy headless (try Miss Ly Cafe). My mouth is literally watering just writing this. Wash yourself down with a glass of wine at White Marble Wine Bar while watching the old town go by.
My favorite area to stay in Hoi An is a short walk or bike ride from Hoi An Old Town. I like being close to the action, but not so close that you can’t sleep through the noise!
Villa Orchid River – My favorite accommodation in Hoi An near the old town is Villa Orchid River. Villa Orchid Garden Riverside Hoi An is a luxury boutique hotel. This is a quiet place by the river and only a 10 minute walk from Hoi An old town.
