With such a busy schedule, mothers usually don’t have much time to focus on themselves. During this time to celebrate moms, families often find ways to spoil their parents… There’s something about January that makes me sit down with my calendar and plan lots of trips for the coming year. It’s so cold and dark outside, curled up with the laptop and planning some adventure.

Although we’ve taken a break from major international travel during the pandemic, we’ve loved getting to know the Seattle area and its amazing (and dog-friendly!) weekend getaways. After living in New York and Chicago for a decade, it’s great to come back and revisit an old favorite getaway, and see all the innovative new lights, boutique hotels, and unique Airbnbs popping up here. Most importantly, I would love to see how many of them accept dog options for your stay. I was more than happy to take Dave and Lizzie on vacation.

With recent features in publications like Vogue, this beautifully renovated historic hotel has been popping up all over my Instagram feed and I’m dying to travel. . Walla Walla is one of the most popular wine regions in the country with over 120 wineries, so I honestly can’t think of a better place to spend a few days. I’ve been bookmarking this modern hotel downtown for a while because it looks like the perfect place for a weekend in the snow or a weekend of booze. Or both! Honestly, Coho Beach stole my heart with that ocean fire pit. Although the Oregon Coast location is a short drive from Seattle, the sleek modern interior and views of the Pacific Ocean are worth it. Dogs under 25 pounds are welcome in select homes – more specific here.

It’s my New Year’s resolution to book a lunch break at St. Edwards as soon as possible – it should be easy as it is half an hour’s drive from the city. This important historic seminary has been restored to a luxurious and beautiful resort located directly on Route 326 on Lake Washington. We spent a great weekend at the Lodge on Vashon in January 2020 – and blogged about it here – and the memories got me through the first few months of confinement. This 570-square-foot designer unit offers amenities such as a private patio, fireplace, and soaking tub. Plus, it’s the perfect spot for beaches and beautiful hiking on Vashon Island. I’ve been wanting to own one of those Insta-famous A-frames for so long that I decided to make it happen this year. Tye River Cabin Co. Baker-Snoqualmie offers three stunning A-frame cabins nestled in the heart of the National Forest, all three pet-friendly. Word of mouth for Denmark is that it’s hard to get their bookings because every one of their beautiful Insta posts gets thousands of likes. Pet information is listed under each cabin detail.

We spent the 2019 Easter weekend in Semiahmoo, and I’m looking for an opportunity to return to the beautiful scenery and secluded beaches that Lizzie loves to explore. Just a short drive from the Canadian border, this resort is the perfect base for a great trip to northern Washington and the incredible panoramic views of the coast. They are very friendly, and the puppies are welcomed with bowls, beds and (at least during our visit) souvenirs. Here are the details of the dog.
