One of the most dog-friendly places to stay in Queensland is The Summit 1770, a place built specifically for dogs and their owners at the foot of Agnes Water. In addition to three dog-friendly lodges near the summit, a caravan park was recently built near the entrance.
There are a number of operated and unoperated sites as well as a good camp kitchen and social facilities. But it’s the dog facilities that really stand out.
Across from the main amenities complex is a large off-leash dog park with a dam. There is also a small dog run area further where you can admire the sunset. Additionally, since my visit in 2021, kennels have been added at three electric locations. Arrive early and grab a spot with your own private 3m x 3m kennel.

BIG4 Gold Coast Holiday Park has a lot to offer the whole family, from a huge water park to a licensed restaurant, but it’s also a fantastic dog-friendly destination, the most dog-friendly caravan park on the Gold Coast. And even the most dog-friendly caravan park nearby. to brisbane.
For starters, there’s also a range of dog-friendly cottages that sleep up to six people, from studios to two-bedroom terraces, with dogs allowed in some areas including the bathrooms. Two well-behaved dogs can join us at no extra cost if reserved in advance.

Quiet and relaxing, it’s a great place to fish and crab (there’s a boat ramp on site) or enjoy the sun. At management’s discretion, pets may accompany you to electric areas throughout the year or inquire about pet-friendly homes.
At the center of the park is a wonderful off-leash dog park, equipped with exercise equipment so energetic dogs can play under supervision. Outside the staff building is a K9000 dog wash station, perfect for relaxing after your sandy adventure.
Whether you’re heading north to Queensland or want to stay somewhere pet-friendly near Gladstone, Mt Larcom Tourist Park is a great dog-friendly place to stay just off the highway.
Animals are allowed in all areas of the park, in numbered areas with access to electricity and in large, unpowered campgrounds. Pets are also allowed in the cabins if requested at the time of booking. A maximum of two pets are allowed in the cottage and puppies and kittens under 6 months old are required and all pets must be kept off the bed.

The park has two designated off-leash areas. The first of these is the sunrise view, which you should see with a “large picture frame” before sunrise. On the other side is the second area, the lower floor. Please note that none of the areas are fenced and dogs must obey your voice commands.
On arrival at the park you will receive a copy of the ‘Animals in our Park’ brochure, which includes details of local, pet-friendly places to eat and drink, as well as nearby breeders and pet care. There are also waste bags at each collection point and pet towels can be ordered from the office.

Another pet-friendly caravan park in Cairns is Tasman Holiday Parks – Cairns Cool Waters. This lush and green caravan park is the starting point for the Rainforest Creek Walk, which leads to neighboring Goombura Park, which has an off-leash dog park and swimming beach.
Dogs are welcome at our pet-friendly properties and at select Daintree and Reef Lodges. The one-bedroom Daintree Cottage can accommodate two adults and two children; Reef Cottages, on the other hand, are open plan and ideal for couples with pets. Online reservation is possible.
Only half of Mackay’s caravan parks allow pets, and one pet-friendly park is Myco Bakers Creek Caravan Park south of the city. Animals can live in grassy areas with or without electricity, making it a great place for overnight or longer stays.
This small park has an excellent camp kitchen as well as several riverside rest areas. However, a recent addition to the park that makes it very dog friendly is a fenced dog exercise area at the far end of the park from the river.

The Walkamin Caravan Park is a friendly caravan park located halfway between Mareeba and Atherton. It’s a convenient base for exploring the Atherton Plateau, but only caravans and caravans are allowed; Tent camping is not permitted. At its center is a large camp kitchen with a fireplace, a popular meeting place for gray nomads during happy times.
One issue on long road trips is where to wash your dog’s bedding (or towels or jackets) in caravan parks, so, unsurprisingly, washing your dog’s clothes in park laundries is illegal. Please note that this park has a washing machine designed to wash dog bedding only.
One of the most dog-friendly places near Bundaberg is Woodgate Beach due to its long leash-free beach on either side. Fortunately the local NRMA Woodgate Beach Holiday Park is also pet friendly.
A maximum of two pets, either dog, cat or bird, are allowed in both regular and electric areas. Reservations must be made directly at the park. Once you’ve checked in with your dog, you’ll receive a dog welcome pack that includes a dog-friendly map, dog biscuits, and the all-important poop bag.

The on-site Serenity Cove Cafe serves breakfast, lunch and a quick dinner seven days a week, as well as fish and chips to-go. Dogs are welcome at selected tables equipped with dog bowls at the front of the cafe.
If you want to visit Fraser Island while traveling with your dog, Fraser Coast RV Park is the place to stay. Along with being located near the River Heads Ferry Terminal, the park also offers on-site pet care. Due to frequent bookings, advance reservation is required for the service.
Dogs are welcome in most areas of the campsite and at the Bertha Aussie van. We lived in the Dog’s Corner neighborhood, near a wonderful camp kitchen and a quaint social services building. There was also a nature reserve nearby with Leash walking trails.
Remember that sandflies are common in the area, so it’s best to cover them and keep your pup inside until evening.

Killarney View Cabins & Caravan Park is a peaceful and quiet holiday park in southern Queensland, close to the mountains and waterfalls of the Main Range (including several dog-friendly waterfalls).
