Dog Friendly Cabin Qld – If you want to travel with your dog in Queensland but don’t have your own caravan or tent to camp in, a good option is to stay in a pet-friendly cabin, usually in a caravan park. Although many cottages unfortunately do not allow pets, I have found a wide range of pet friendly cottages in Queensland, from the south of the state to Far North Queensland.

Southern Queensland’s wine region in the Granite Belt is a dog-friendly destination to visit, including the central town of Stanthorpe. The city’s tourist park, located on the outskirts of town, offers a variety of pet-friendly accommodations, including affordable pet-friendly cabins.

Standard cabins allow pets. Each studio-style cabin sleeps up to four people, with a double bed and a pair of bunk beds as well as a kitchenette and bathroom. There are also pet-friendly family chalets, which usually have a queen bed and a wood stove in a separate bedroom.

The park is a short drive from the town center and includes a swimming pool, games room, covered barbecue area and plenty of space to walk your dog in the middle of the bush.

Kira Beach Tourist Park is a dog-friendly caravan park on the Gold Coast if you want to go to the coast instead of holidaying with your dog in Queensland. Just steps from the beach (and a short drive to off-leash Palm Beach Dog Beach), dogs are allowed year-round at select power sites and in their excellent dog-friendly cabins.

Two spacious two-bedroom cabins are designed to accommodate dogs. The balcony of each cabin is enclosed and surrounded by animal-proof netting, perfect for relaxing meals, perhaps using the balcony barbecue. Inside there are two bedrooms sleeping up to four people and a kitchen with dishwasher and bathroom.

Please note that only one small dog is generally allowed per reservation and must be up to date on vaccinations. An additional $32 cleaning fee applies. The park also has a self-service dog washing machine and a pet-friendly water fountain.

Another great dog-friendly caravan park on the Gold Coast is BIG4 Gold Coast Holiday Park. The most dog-friendly caravan park on the Gold Coast, the park features a large fenced off-leash dog park, agility equipment, a DIY dog laundry known as Puppy Pampering Palace and dog kennels on site.

Dogs are welcome in at least 20 of the park’s pet-friendly cabins. Pet-friendly options include cozy studios, cozy chalets, two-bedroom cottages, two-bedroom family chalets, two-bedroom bungalows and terraces. Pets are not allowed in motel rooms or some large villas. If in doubt, check with the park or their website (look for paw prints).

North Stradbroke Island is one of the dog-friendly islands on the Queensland coast, with pets allowed on the ferry, off-leash beaches and on-leash beaches on the island. A classic option is to camp on the beaches, accessible only by 4×4, but North Stradbroke also has pet-friendly chalets.

Book your stay at Sea Serenity at Amity Point, on the north end of the island. Five of their eight cabins are pet-friendly, and well-behaved dogs are allowed. The beautifully decorated cabins sleep between two and six people, each with their own kitchen and furniture.

The chalets offer seafront or garden views. All properties have waterfront access, including an outdoor waterfront kitchen and barbecue area.

The Great Sandy Straits is just a three-hour drive from central Brisbane, but a world away from the city, especially when you stay at the quiet and relaxing Poona Palms Holiday Park.

Pets are welcome to stay with you year-round in the park at the power sites and in their pet-friendly cabins, at the manager’s discretion. A number of villas and two- and three-bedroom villas in the park allow pets – inquire directly about which ones and specify when booking that you are bringing a pet.

The caravan park houses its own off-leash dog park, a K9000 dog wash station outside the building with agility equipment and facilities for cleaning up after an adventure in the sand. It also has a popular boat ramp for fishing and crabbing.

Further north, book a stay at BIG4 Hervey Bay Holiday Park for pet-friendly cabins in Queensland. Pets are also allowed in some pet-friendly cabins, as they are in their operated campsites.

The park is located in Point Vernon. While dogs are allowed on most beaches in the Hervey Bay area, the Point Vernon foreshore is largely off-leash. There are three separate off-lease areas, including the stretch between Aplin Street and Pines Park, near the caravan park.

The trailer park is just a few yards from the Nielsen Park dog park located on the north side of Fred Koutis Avenue. Dogs are also allowed in the Bargara foreshore area, accessed from the esplanade, but please note some signs indicating that dogs are not allowed.

Mount Larkham Tourist Park is a great, pet-friendly place to stay when driving north through Queensland. The park is located near the Bruce Highway exit to Gladstone.

Authorized on all powered and unpowered sites in the park, animals are also allowed in the park’s chalets provided they are declared at the time of booking. Two pets are allowed per cabin, including indoors, provided they are kept out of bed. Please note that puppies and kittens under 6 months of age are required to be admitted.

The park has two convenient off-leash areas. One is towards the sunrise view, with its “Big Picture Frame” which is worth seeing at sunrise. There is also a second area on the other side, on the lower level – note that both are not fenced. Poop bags are also provided at all trash points and pet towels can be requested from the office.

One of the best pet-friendly caravan parks to stay in Charters Towers town center is Dalrymple Tourist Van Park, located 2km north of the town centre. The park backs onto the golf course, is a de facto off-leash zone, and offers pet-friendly cabins.

The caravan park has budget cabins by the pool and with garden views. Each can accommodate four to six people, with double or queen beds, one or two pairs of bunk beds, as well as a kitchen and bathroom. Contact the park in advance to request a pet-friendly cabin. An additional fee of $10 per pet, per night applies.

Cairns is home to several dog-friendly caravan parks, although many of them do not allow pets in their cabins. If you’re looking for pet-friendly cabins, book at Cairns Coolwater Holiday Park.

The park is located near the beautiful Gombura Park, which has a large off-leash area with a popular swimming area for dogs. The park has its own rainforest walk on site.
