Best Dog Friendly Resorts In Texas

Best Dog Friendly Resorts In Texas – One of the most common questions I get asked if I visit campgrounds in Texas is if they are camping friendly! So I teamed up with my friends at HipCamp to highlight some of my favorite pet-friendly spots near Austin. And if you’re new to Hipcamp, you can sign up for your first stay here for $10!

One of my favorite things about Hipcamp is that they have an “animal friendly” filter that you can apply when searching for campsites and camping spots on their website or app. Which makes it easy to find a friendly place to stay!

Is this the best treehouse location in Texas? Located near Bastrop in Paige, Texas, the Hobbit’s Nest is a true wilderness escape. As you might have guessed, the property is Lord of the Rings themed, with lots of decorations to bring the Shire to life.

And, best of all, they’re one of the most dog-friendly places you’ll find. Of course, their owners live nearby, and their two dogs roam the yard and will probably pop into the tree house to say hello!

There is no wifi, but there is a grill, toilet, shower and small fridge, so I recommend cooking on site and really disconnecting. Also, the voice of nature is loud here, especially in their “frog chorus” that you can hear from the beautiful lily pond that overlooks the wooden house.

This popular retreat is located just outside of Dripping Springs in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. Options here at Lucky Arrow Retreat (Earn $10 on Hipcamp for new users) include yurts, cabins, and lodges, depending on the size of your party and the type of experience you’re looking for. If you really want to see, yurts are the best option for you, as pictured below.

Each fits up to two guests and has access to an adjoining bathroom. For something a little more than a hotel, there are Courtyard Cabins, Breezeway Cabins, and Porch Houses, all of which fit up to four guests and have their own bathrooms.

Although the house is dog and cat friendly, you’ll have to pay $150 for pets, which you can do when you order at checkout on Hipcamp (which will also make sure they’re pet-friendly). placed in one of the rooms). .

If you want to sleep in a converted shipping container, the Flophouse Shipping Container Hotel in Round Top, TX is what you’re looking for. Sit by the fire pit and enjoy stargazing, take a dip in the pool, and hit the town for lots of vintage shopping.

Yurts can accommodate up to 4 guests and come with amenities like full private bathrooms and access to miles of hiking trails. They offer guided tours for an additional $25 at checkout. They also have things like kayak rentals available upon request!

Ranch 3232 offers unique Texas Hill Country accommodations with rental cabins, cabins, RV sites, camping sites, and even gypsy trucks (get $10 on Hipcamp for new users). The property is also conveniently located in Johnson City and 1.5 miles from Pedernales Falls State Park, so it’s perfect if you plan on doing some hiking and exploring the state park during your stay.

My favorite is the Bird House, their little cabin, though I’d recommend it just for solo stays (+ dog). This is too short! However, if you’re looking for something more, cabins are a great option. At the time of writing, their bright tent does not allow dogs.

It’s always best to check the available rooms at each pet-friendly location, as sometimes not all rooms are available on policies that are subject to change!

Located on Lake Bastrop, GLAT Austin has beautiful safari tents that sleep 3-6 guests, depending on the tent you choose ($10 Hipcamp discount for new users). They also have some houses that have their own fireplaces, among other things, a fire pit that every house in the house has.

Mystery Canyon in Canyon Lake, TX is the best place to go tubing in the summer! Their accommodations range from cabins, tipis, glamping tents and cabins to RV sites and tent sites (get $10 on Hipcamp for new users). You can go lakeside, go tubing on the nearby Guadalupe River, catch a show at the Whitewater Amphitheater, or spend the day at Canyon Lake.
